Meh card, only 4gb vram. don't buy this for games. this should be a sub 100 card, terrible performance

2060 cards were selling for what, $25 more than this fairly recently and provide a 50% jump in performance. The 5500XT cards are faster than these.

AMD decided to drop to a 64 bit bus for whatever reason when they went with 128 bit bus on the 5500XT. Also just 4 lanes on 6500 XT vs 8 lanes on the 5500xt.

That card isn't even worth that. I think its actually slower than the 5500xt at least its not a big improvement.

I can't believe AMD released this. It just makes them look absurd. It would be like a Lexus dealership trying to hock Lexus branded mountain bikes in the lobby for $4k. Just...why? How can this possibly be helpful to the business or the brand?

It's more respectable to just...no. Just no.

Thanks for the info. Didn't notice the 128-bit vs 64-bit thing. Although the 6500 has a slightly higher Passmark score, and the core clock and memory clock speeds are significantly higher in the 6500. Overall, the 6500 still seems to hold an edge over the 5500, but I'm no expert.

I'm still kind of debating between the 5500 and 6500. I'm only using it for 4K office and video (so both cards are probably overkill), but I figure I might as well go with the better card if they're about the same price. I guess the 5500 would be a good choice if it's cheaper. But the 6500 has lower power consumption...

unfortunately I need an RTX card otherwise I'd consider AMD. I use NVIDIA's broadcast software and nothing else on the market can match its ability for background removal. The 2060 is meant for a cheap streaming PC in a dual PC setup (I run a 3080 in the gaming PC).

Would not recommend Rx 6500 xt due to lack of hardware av1 decoder, h265 encoder and 4k h 264 encoder, let alone the performance in game. One level up to rx 6600 would be better choice.

I'm normally not in the camp pushing people to spend more than what they allotted, but the step up to the rx 6600 at $240-250 is absolutely worth digging deeper. It's at least twice as fast, doesn't get gimped on PCIe 3.0 because it has 8 instead of 4 lanes (meaning Missy better for older systems getting upgraded), the video encoders/decoders you mentioned, plus more RAM...
