I highly recommend anyone considering this deal to take screenshots of the deal, cart, checkout, etc. If I didn't have that information last year I would have been absolutely screwed out of $800 that I'm now receiving in bill credits. That $800 was supposed to be gift cards but after days of calling/texting for help I ended up in an Xfinity store where those printed screen shots and a helpful employee were able to at least get me those credits.

An additional reminder, if you want to preorder, you're limited to two preorders at a time. If your order is delayed this can knock you out of their promotional period so CYA with those screenshots of your actual order date/time and the offers at those times!

I just talked to customer service, got two different answers about locking policy, and feel very confused. Any one can help me?

Because I travel internationally, I wan to upgrade to iphone 13 which still has one regular SIM card slot. However with 400$ credit, the iphone will be locked for 2 years. The customer says both SIM slots (including the unused one) are locked. If I want to unlock, I need to pay full payment in advance and lose $400 credits. But on other carriers' website like Verizon, the phone on device payment agreement will also be unlocked automatically after 60 days after purchase.

Any one uses dual-SIM locked iphone? Are both SIM locked even if only one SIM is in use?

If both SIM cards are locked by Xfinity for two years, iPhone 13 will be the same as iphone 14, not good for travel use.

It's locked by IMEI not sim.

If xfinity has a roaming agreement with a carrier at your overseas destination then the original sim will work. If you have to insert a sim card it will not, until xfinity unlocks your phone for you.

Your phone is going to be locked to xfinity. It cannot be used abroad or with any other carrier. The only sim you can put in esim or physical is an xfinity sim. This deal is only for customers willing to only use xfinity services for 2 years and never use a different sim in it for that period of time. This is not the deal for you if you want to use it abroad. Your best choice is to just pay for the phone at full retail in one lump sum at Apple. You can then later use the phone to potentially do other deals (BYOD etc here or at other carriers).

If someone hears more about the $400 gift card option for existing users, please let us all know here. Bill credits over 24 months is a much worse deal considering its locked all that time and you're stuck to xfinity mobile.
