The deal is not showing on the regular google play cards but is showing on the "Congrats Grad" cards (only the $25 ones) as of 0300 PST

If you have YouTube premium or a Google data storage plan this helps save a few bucks. The only bad thing is towards the end of the balance remaining if your Google bill is 9.99 and your gift card only has $8 left, they won't split the payments. You have to have enough play credit to cover the whole charge or it skips it and uses your normal payment (credit card, ect)

That's how it shows on my previous purchase invoice. So that's where the $4.50 red card discount amount comes from. The invoice shows total purchase was $85.50 which would only be accurate if you treat the gift card as cash.
