bought this last year as a way to add extra vegetables to my homemade stew and occasional ramen bowl.

You will have to boil/microwave this for several minutes BEFORE starting the ramen itself - otherwise you end up with very crunchy vegetables. If making a stew, this isn't as much of a problem.

also, the parsley flakes are very powder-like, so you'll need to mix the container up each time or you end up with a thick layer of green dust at the bottom.
Be aware that this contains sulfites. Some reviewers are complaining about bad reactions they had. Also, one reviewer says the vegetables used are from China (not sure how they found out). Might be one of those products that say that US is the country of origin just because it was packaged in US (while the content was from China).
Vegetables are something like 90% water, and these are freeze dried. Multiply by 10 to get the equivalent weight of fresh vegetables.

Price per pound is way off here. Why not just buy fresh for cheaper?

I would think most people would be using this to prepare homemade 'just add water and boil' meals for backpacking and such, with some instant rice and seasonings, or whatever.

One bag contains about eleven 1/2-cup (dry) servings, each serving is 140 calories

Don't know about the sulfites reviewer, she was a bit dramatic, but browse the rest of the 1 star reviews and you will see a couple recent reviewers mentioned they received items packaged in 2007 and expiring in 2022/2023. Yeah, I'm gonna pass on this one. Intrigued though and will look for similar product in the future for camping.

What's the shelf life?

If it's freeze dried, 25+ years. YMMV with storage conditions. Food storage should be 70*F or less.
No, it's not. If you read reviews, many people are complaining that exp was less than 1 year, like 6 months, 3 months etc. Also, many people confirmed that it's dehydrated, not freeze-dried.

The bag is 16 oz, and serving size is 4 oz - that's $1.69 per serving. Spendy addition to 50ยข ramen.
Some Natural Grocers have a similar bag for $5. (YMMV)
You just converted cups of a dried good to liquid ounces - doesn't work like that. A serving is 35 grams, that's 1.2 ounces. Almost exactly 13 servings in a bag, 51 cents per serving.

To be fair, there is another user that states the vegetables are from USA. How would anyone but Frontier know?
Yea, that's why I find it suspicious. Frontier never responded to people asking where the vegetables came from. Only some random Amazon customer did. If vegetables were US-grown, I'd think that Frontier would respond to these questions and say that confidently. I know I would if I were the seller. Sellers use all sorts of word tricks nowadays, so it's best to be cautious.

Not Quite... This contains about 2 1/2 to 3 cups dried. Each cup of dried makes 2 cups (for reference, about one can of vegetables). So... at most, 3 cans worth of vegetables. That seems expensive. Go fresh for less and avoid the nastiness of rehydrated vegetables.

Why not fresh veggies? Genuinely curious. Convenience?
Agreed. These are dehydrated vegetables and lack freshness. We have gotten mighty lazy. The only use I would have for this is as part of emergency rations for some sort of calamity ... but I already have enough of that.
