This will be MUCH lower next month, or the month after.
It's a great impact driver. I'm using it while my Makita xdt16, and Dewalt 887, sit there performing as backups. It may nit have "1,500ft/lbs of MoAr NuT BuStInG ToRqUe!!!" But it has very precise drive system, and it's smoothness doesn't wear out easily. It just has a superior feel when the anvil hits. Plus, if you're using hardware that this tool might not drive in, then it's the wrong tool for the job. And it might slam a ¼"×12" lag a second slower, but at the end of a long day driving a bunch.in, your Hands will thank you. Basically, what makes this better, is not something that gas a statistic, or data sheet on ... it's something you have to experience. Then you'll understand what I mean.
Now, the Freak as an impact wrench, is very low power, but can still do lug nuts on/off most vehicles. It can also do both at same time if you have the right bits. I use a lot if ¼ hardware that has a hex head, and a T30 torx option. And when you use a 2" , T30 bit, with a 3" long socket, you never have to worry about camming out of its at a tricky angle.
However...
Bosch is in a strange state of limbo in the North American market right now. So, stay tuned for BIG price drops.
How big? I'm not sure if this will be as inexpensive as the 1600c was last year ($62 with free 4ah Core/charger setup.) But, I'm sure the free 4ah battery/charger deal will be nearly permanent, and this tool will at least hit $99 with the free Battery. If it goes lower, I'm buying a couple, and saving them for future needs.
The 1800C was marked down to $49.67 around the same time last year, 4ah core battery, charger, bag included. I picked one up and was able to price match using the screenshot found on this site.
Not a terrible deal but this tool leaves a lot to be desired. It lacks the refinement of something like the Makita and does nothing to make up for it in any other way. It's not even a tool anyone should consider, imo. Bosch isn't a serious brand in NA and this tool isn't the one you would want if you wanted to dabble with the brand. There are a couple decent tools from them but certainly not enough to justify getting started in the Bosch line. The cordless orbital is excellent as well as the high torque impact and that 18v vacuum but that's about it for Bosch cordless.

IMO, best radio with the powerbox, but I wouldn't start a platform based on the radio.
I don't get all the hate for the tool. I bought one last summer at this price and it does a great job on ordinary lug nuts as well as just seems to have overall quality. I own Makita and Ryobi tools and didn't want yet another battery/charger system but couldn't find anything else that fit what I needed as well.
I have the Made in Germany version of this thing and it's amazing. Blasts through lug nuts and giant lag bolts like nothing... I don't even have the newer Core batteries and it's still great.

I have the slightly less powerful version - GDX18V-1600B12. Bought it new from Amazon with 4Ah battery and charger for $79.99 (was on sale at that price back in July for almost an entire week).

I don't own any Bosch 18V batteries, but their 18V cordless drill is great, lots of torque.
Maybe a battery system to invest in if you're not already committed to a different one.
My bosch tools have handled a lot of abuse without an issue. I drove an inch and an eighth auger bit through a railroad tie several times with my drill, nearly broke my arm but not the drill.
I have this, it's really not a good tool. I've used it working on my car trying to save time and it would barely break free any bolts. I finally put this thing up and just used basic hand tools.

It's an impact driver, best for driving screws and lags in a construction environment.
For mechanical work, a more powerful impact wrench would be a much better choice.

The 1800C had a later production run that had major collet issues. Hopefully this revision doesn't suffer bits getting stuck.
Anyway, you will probably find this in a kit with another drill for cheaper overall. You just have to keep track of which kits contain what, with a close eye on models… this is a decent price for the single tool.
As for the "Bosch sucks in NA", yeah, I'm not thrilled with their slim lineup, but it prevents me from buying a bunch of tools I don't need. If I had Milwaukee, I'd probably own the esoteric trade specific tools for no reason.
