Terrible comment. Both have their place, but alkalines rule for many applications still.
I think it depends on the application. Things you use daily should use rechargeable, but things like smoke detectors, remotes, or other things that will go years without a change I like to use alkaline.

In for one pack @ $3.69 shipped via S&S; thanks OP.

I have rechargeable AAs but I find that testing vintage/retro LCD handheld games require alkaline batteries to truly work properly and have properly lit displays. (Important to make sure that everything is displaying correctly)

How are these vs costco? reason I ask is everything I have seen the costco batteries are on par with Duracell, which is the top brand. If these are priced the same as costco, seams better to just go with costco.

same product, just look more stupid.

Would be better if they don't spend so much money into making it look "stupid". If they want to improve they should improve on the price or the performance. It's going to be chuck into the trash anyway.

Stop buying disposable batteries and just get Panasonic Eneloop batteries.
I prefer alkaline for my smoke detectors. The z-wave ones I have take AA and rechargeables drain faster than I would like.

A 'Slick Deal' should be like 20 cents per battery or less. I'm starting to run a little low but I have enough to last until Black Friday.
Last year I paid $8 for a 60 pack of AAA at Home Depot, so 13 cents each.
