This is great. I was looking for a way to plug all of my 22 space heaters into one outlet and still be able to charge my phone by usb.

So the strip itself isn't UL certified... just the wire?

This is, unfortunately, a common tactic by suspect power brands. A reputable power strip with surge protection will bear UL listing marks and have them clearly labeled for all relevant standards. Proper labeling is typically seen as those holographic metal foil labels or an integral part of the injection molding in the body of the device to indicate a listing certificate number and/or the appropriate standards. The UL molding in the cable in the plug by itself is not sufficient, as you can review from the guidelines here:
https://marks.ul.com/about/ul-lis...h-america/

However, suspect companies will incorporate a UL listed cord set into their equipment in an effort to suggest compliance / UL-listing. Of course, as I suggested in a post just earlier this morning for a product which may be similarly suspect, if I went to a Home Depot and bought a UL-listed extension cord but proceeded to cut off the outlet end and attached alligator clips I could not resell such a device as UL-listed.

Good luck!

I doubt UL would ever certify anything like this.

Decent gag gift to buy from a firefighter for a firefighter.

I'm seriously considering buying one for my cousin who is also a firefighter.

New scam to be aware of. Products will claim UL listed, when only the power cord is UL listed. The product isn't. Also unknown if the power cord really is, or is simply falsely marked as such.
