I think you're wrong. They are selling their game with the bundle at a cheaper value than selling the game itself. They are selling the bundle because they are trying to inflate the popularity in the game.
Tbh I don't think it's a smart move as per your comment, you see an additional cost for the system for a game you don't want and probably make you resent the game. A couple years from now this game will sell on the aftermarket for $10 max, mark my words.
Amazon is limited to invite only for disc version and bundle. Digital is pretty much unavailable unless you want to pay $300 extra. Pretty much sucks you gotta pay extra $50 for a game you may not care for in lieu of a price rise. Other commenters complaining of msrp priced merch being labeled a hot deal, well if you can't buy something cheaper and the only consoles available online are hundreds above list then I guess msrp qualifies as a hot deal.
I got the invite a while ago for standard version on Amazon. Haven't been looking but I know standard version has been available pretty regularly now. I wouldn't buy the hzd2 bundle

Why not just let people who are in the queue have it? Are you shipping the system to their house for free? You know PlayStation limits 1 per household for each drop? All you've successfully done is take a console away from someone who needed it.
Who cares? Grabbed a top end gpu , back to PC. I truly feel Sony , tough couple years but come on now.

I received my invitation from Sony to purchase and was able to get the disc edition console for $499 without having to do the bundle deal.

Maybe your intention is pure but do you understand the logistics of trying to get this other person a system that's in your account? Are you providing them with the login info? Will they need to provide their credit card number to you or are you purchasing it and them paying you back?
My only point is that Sony has provided best counter measures to avoid scalpers from taking all the stock so unless this was back when the system was first selling and there were problems with getting the system, I would just leave it alone. The scalping community is virtually dead so just leave that console alone.

Well, I had another option. I could forgive them for not getting me my console when I wanted it. Wait till now what is it 2+ years? Buy it so Sony wins, for another chance of a fck up with the next release. But I realised this is not a damn d&d game.
Lack of available ps5 consoles pushed most of my friends to PC. At this point, none of us are getting are getting the ps5.
Not sure what you consider a top end, I just upgraded to a 3070 ti for $450. Pretty top end for me.
