Heads up....you can buy 3 replacement blades for $19.89 directly from Philips. Free shipping.
They're out of stock temporarily but you can be notified when they're available via email.
Additionally, you can purchase 2 replacement blades for $13.83 there if you sign up for their email promo notifications (which gives you a $10.00 discount).
So if it's just blades that you need, there's no point in wasting money on another trimmer.
There's also a subscription option but it's optional.

Better, yes, but since that's $12 more, how is this one in that situation? Usable? Or bloody murder?

I use mine with just the blade and I have cut anything. Though I'll still use my normal razor if I let things grow out for awhile and I just grab a handful of my nutsack and go to town with that and haven't cut myself either.

I have this and it's good. My only complaint is the blades can't be rotated 180 degrees.to use the top half in a pull position. So when the bottom gets dull, to get the most out of the blade you'll have to push the top of the blade around. I can't help but believe this was by purposeful design to get you to buy more blades to avoid that.

how is this for pubes?

I have this. It's ok to trim up the pubic area but I wouldn't use it on your jewel bag.

Yea this is also my major complaint. I wish I could flip the blade around.
