I find that the new website is much more inaccurate than the old as far as inventory goes - I was at a GameStop last week and I was literally looking at a whole bunch of games on the shelf that the website said was not in stock.

I am looking to purchase the PS5 digital edition. My husband recently passed away. So I would have asked him. It's our son's 13th birthday. I am clueless about game systems lol..if anyone could please tell me what the difference is between the 2020 and 2022 versions of the PS5? Just a great marketing ploy? Tips and suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks y'all and many blessed wishes in advance
If you're asking about the PS5 system itself, they were revised to have better cooling and also be slightly lighter. It's not an appreciable difference though so get whatever is cheapest/available
A lot of it is also from many an opinion that the game is very shallow and just doesn't feel satisfying to play.
Not many people mention this point, thank you everyone is raging about the new fixes but the fact that the game is not that engaging is still an issue. Everyone had high hopes with the hype they gave for cyberpunk

You may want to look at a parent's review for the game before buying. Not for the violence, but the sexual themes are very heavy in this game. My boy is 14 and he is not allowed to play this game.
Any version you buy will be the latest version. They now do software updates just like an iPhone. However, if you buy a physical disc (CD, Blu Ray) it will not work with the digital version. That one install games like apps, over the internet only and has no disc drive to play a physical copy.

As a parent of a 14 year old boy, the sex scenes are definitely enough of a reason for me to never allow him to play it.
Go watch the Panam tank love scene on YouTube and judge for yourself.
(And if I'm being honest, the violence would be enough to keep it away from him as well.)
Finally gave the game a proper shot on my PS5 since it seems to be out of "Early Access" (haha "jokes") and the game is legit, to me at least. Im not going to say its the best game ever made or anything like that but it has a good story, characters/dialogue, graphics and atmosphere. The gameplay isnt "great" but its pretty decent and i had fun making a katana/body build and im already starting a second playthrough as a different type of character in terms of backstory and playstyle. I beat the game the first time through in about 20 hours but i also skipped alot of the side missions, so this time i will play them. In an age where i hardly have the attention span to play long games, or just any games anymore (The only other game ive played much this year is Elden Ring at 100+ hours) this game has gone to my upper tier of games.

Same here. I was looking for something to use my $5 Pro Reward on. Have a couple games on my wanted list that the website said we're out of stock at the 4 stores around me. Went in to one to get Xbox currency and doubled checked the shelf in case. There was a copy of Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise that was supposedly not available. On sale for $18.99 on GameStop website which they matched and used my $5 Pro reward plus $5 coupon from points. Don't want to think about other deals that have passed me by because of a shite inventory system. More importantly for them is how many sales they lose out on because someone turns to Ebay or what not to get their game that supposedly is not in stock locally.
A lot of it is also from many an opinion that the game is very shallow and just doesn't feel satisfying to play.
This all boils down to personal opinion. Personally for me the story was OK. It wasn't anything that blew me away. I enjoyed the gameplay aspect more. The gun play is amazing with an arsenal of weapons at your disposal with an array of skills and perks that accommodates your playing style.
I do agree the open world is very shallow and I feel like they padded it with NCPD scanners and gigs just to fill it because they don't know what else to do with it. No civilian interactions, no side activities you can do with people you know. It's very bland. I think most of us are used to Grand Theft Auto and kind of set that as the the standard for open world games so when a game is as big as Cyberpunk is and there aren't much to do in the open world it is quite disappointing.
They do a good job of masking this though with unique side jobs that are pretty engaging, fun and even one that is extremely disturbing.
After completing the main story and going through all the endings there wasn't really anything else to do or motivates me to keep playing. If there was a NG+ that allowed you to carry over your levels, allowing you to play around with the skills, going the intelligence skill tree or cool skill tree to open up new ways to play I think it would have more replay value. At this point I had already put at least 70+ hours in so you'll definitely get your moneys worth.
It's a solid game with potential to be great but CDPR missed the mark in some areas.
Regarding concerns for young teens. Yes this game is very violent. However the sex scenes are very hard to access because you need to choose the right dialogue to unlock it. Something you'll need a guide to do. I was playing this blindly and didn't encounter any until I was reading through a guide online.

* There has been a few people that have stated they will only buy it if it hits the $5 mark.
