I think the quality is insane for the price we paid here ($114 for me since the last time I ordered it was canceled and PayPal did not give me the $10 again). I mean, I know crap tables I have bought in the past for college that cost me 50-100 bucks and this is easily on another level.
The top seems to be of great quality even though it is particle board, I am guessing. I have read others say that, so I am going by that. I expected a flimsy feeling, horrible-looking top, but it looks insanely good. Seriously. And it is heavy. The metal frame seems to be quality on my unit as well. Some have mentioned sharp edges, I believe. None of that over here. Again, I have a brown top and a black frame. No wheels, so if you want to transport it, you need to disassemble it. I think it is easy once I figured out a better way to assemble it, so moving it should never be a big issue.
I checked the motor first. Be aware, I think some may think this is a faulty thing. I clicked on moving up and down first quickly, but the motor was not working, I read the manual, and at the bottom, it mentioned that if you get a blinking ASE (that is what it looked like to me) then to hold the down button to make sure the desk gets level all the way down. Once I did that, the motor was working both up and down. It is easy to lock in the memory settings, just hold 5 seconds. It goes up quite high, and I am 6'1, so I am happy about that.
Overall, I am majorly pleased with this purchase. Since getting this canceled from the last deal at big lots, I almost went with the Twispers deal that had a dual motor for $170, but I never bit since the website was sketchy. If you look at the deal on slickdeals, you will see me asking so many questions to people that bought it. However, I took the chance here since even though it is a single motor, I read on here and on big lots that the motor runs well if you treat the desk right. So for $114 at a decently reputable and easy-to-find local store, I went with this. I am glad that I did.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have other questions.
I did get the brown one too and picked it up today, it's heavier than i thought. I have to find today or tomorrow to assemble it and I have no help so I am gonna try your method to the bottom first. Thanks in advance
2) FWIW-They showed OOS near me & suddenly one was available nearby. When I went to pick it up, I mentioned to the guy that it had been out of stock and suddenly was available, so I was guessing someone ordered it & cancelled or didn't pick it up within the 4 days, so it went back in stock.
He said it showed up because he wound up working the previous day, which was supposed to be his day off & it was already there but hadn't yet been entered into stock. He basically said the inventory system was a bit strange & things had gotten backed up as far as getting stuff that had arrived into the system.
So, you might want to take a peek now & then if you are interested.
