90% of the people in this country couldn't tell the difference in quality between this and a tv double the price. It's fine for most uses and probably an upgrade for anyone with a tv five years old.
My dad's in his late 50s and still has a flip phone I don't think he'll notice the backlight bleed 😂
if people are buying a 1000$ 86'' TV, they should know what they're getting
this is for folks that value size over picture, plain and simple.

Very bad picture quality. Backlit bleed, dirty screen.

I tend to agree. LG makes a good TV and if the PQ looks good in the viewers eye, then this is a good purchase. $1100 for an 85" LG is a nice find

I tend to agree with you about this TV for the price and size....and clearly having the right expectations for what you are paying

But there are TV from more than 5 years ago...such as say the Samsung KS8000 from 2016...that are far better picture quality than this and yes I understand that Samsung was about $1000 for a 65" back then

So price per inch of screen is definitely in this LG's favor and that would have to be your principal reason for buying this TV

Not a TV connoisseur, but I have a 48" version of this and it's been pretty nice, is the picture quality going to be noticeably worse because it's nearly twice the size?

Yes, the bigger the screen the more you notice subpar quality. There are the same number of pixels, so it gets magnified. That said, if you seated 15-20ft away, you probably won't notice any difference from your model to the bigger size. Hope that makes sense.

These have a back light problem, they get blue picture after months of use.

LG TVs that aren't OLED are crap (their OLEDs are the best TVs out there). This is the TV you buy when you only care about size. You WILL get light bleeding and they have very poor black uniformity and contrast.
