You are thinking about TS4000, which does get discounted below $40 regularly. But this TS8000 module is rarely at this price.

Also, current price at Home Depot for TS8000 is $58.99, not $44. TS4000 is what you were looking at.
TS8000 has knob to control the gas flow.
If you're using this for dabs, you're not concerned with your health, tbh.
