Thank God I purchased the "premium" coverage and Lenovo sent a technician to replace the controller 7 days after I submitted a ticket. (I got it replaced today. Fingers crossed).
I would suggest getting the premium warranty because I can't imagine how long it would take to mail it, fix it, and send it back.
Also, this is my 3rd Lenovo laptop this year and I've had issues with all of them. (Different models, one bricked after one week, another one won't recognize a USB-C monitor, and the third one is the 13s).
I mentioned my bad luck to the IBM technician who replaced the board (IBM services Lenovo PCs in the US), and he said they have seen issues left and right with several new models.
