FYI there's no obvious manufacture date on the sealed box. Just found out from reddit that the date is hidden in the SN:
They'll be probably be on the 4th gen 5 years from now.
Who knows, maybe they'll engineer a refresh pack where you pull out the CO detector and insert a new one without having to toss the whole darn thing into the trash.

Everywhere else, including walmart, that's a gamble for sure.
