I'll concur with the rest, just use MSG directly. Oh, and anything bad you've heard about MSG is basically false, don't be afraid to use it, but it can be overused.
For best umami flavor, Use Monosodium glutamate AKA MSG such as Ajinomoto
this. the things giving this the desirable "umami flavor" is the shitake and chilean mushrooms. and they have "umami" because they are high in naturally occurring monosodium glutamates.

you can skip the middleman (and all the salt because salt is literally the number one ingredient in this seasoning blend) and just add monosodium glutamate directly to your food when you want to punch up the umami

Why do they have to add so much salt? I'd be interested, but as it is the first ingredient you'd have to add it very lightly.

Salt is a cheap flavor enhancer

This shouldn't have any salt. Salt should be personal and up to each person

Same here, I would have tried it but it's about 100mg sodium per 700mg serving size, which is 36% salt (NaCl) by weight!

Most premixed blends are salt heavy. I quit buying all those rubs or blends because of that. I make my own now.

Add me to the list, I agree with the above 1000%

By the way, you can just buy some dried shiitake mushrooms, break them into small pieces or lightly grind them, and make your own one hundred percent Shiitake mushroom seasoning with NO salt added.

Ya, like every other dried seasoning, SALT is its main ingredient! So you can't really use it in any quantity without getting a good dose of salt with it. How disappointing!
