ugh, this is so wrong. Theragun has better power and harder to "stop" when you press into your muscles. I have some cheap ones and its NIGHT and DAY difference with the Theragun. These are great and the app is great.
Now I dont know of a worth it price for the basic theragun and the Pro/Elite but the diff between Theragun and generic crap at Ross there is a MAJOR difference.
I bought a Ekrin Athletics B37S (full size) and Bantam (mini) last week. After a week of use, I think I'm going to return the B37S (it's really too much device for me), and I'm going to keep the Bantam. Supposedly it's 30-day no question asked returns.
I'm training for my second marathon, and recently had a slight over-stretch of my left quad. Went to the a doctor and he sidelined me for a week and not to use any percussion massagers on my left quad. So, I've been using the mini on my calves, right quad, hamstrings, and my glutes, and it does feel looser when it's done.
My brother has this and I can't say it's that much better than the $35 generic ones at Ross or Marshall's.
That's because it's your brother's. I bought the cheap ones and after 2-3 months they sound awful and after a few more months they are dead. This one, I'm almost approaching a year and it still sounds the same as when I bought it new. Thus, spend this money or spend 1/4th the money but get something that doesn't even last 1/4th the time. I'm done buying cheap massagers that go broke in less than 5 months.
I had 2 generic massage guns. One was $60 the other was $120. Both of them broke.
I'm going to try this out, first dive into Theragun for me, I'm excited to try it.
It'll take at least 6 months to realize that your money was well spent. I've bought the cheaper ones from Amazon, Costco, Macy's. They all broke down after a few months. By the time this one breaks, you'll probably have saved enough money not having to replace it nearly as often.
Those just vibrate at a higher frequency, movement ~1mm, so you'll feel it at the skin level or just under the skin, while Percussion massagers have longer stroke, like 10-20mm, and affect deeper into the muscle.

Build quality is really nice as other have mentioned, and the torque of the motor doesn't fade when you push it hard into your muscles like the cheaper ones. After motocross riding I get arm pump in my forearms and this thing helps a ton to loosen my arms back up before the next session on the moto track. Heck, my labrador retriever even loves it, whenever he hears it turn on he comes running looking for a little of that massage haha!

The mini cuts out at 20lbs of force and the prime cuts out at 30lbs. The mini has stroke amplitude of 12mm and the prime 16mm. Battery for mini lasts 2.5 hours, battery for prime 2 hours.
I got a mini from target for $59.99. I think i may sell it or give it away and get the prime.
FYI elite is 40lbs of force and pro is 60lbs of force before motor stalls.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. 59 dollars for the mini is a steal.
I don't like deep massages, they usually hurt. I think the mini will work for me.
Was gonna wait to see if our economy tanks and pricing go down even further but based on SD search history this is the lowest price by a small margin. Pulled the trigger, thanks 🙏
The recession is only just starting. So you already spent too much 😂
One of those things that are overcomplicated just to pretend it's advance. Why the heck do you need to install an app to control its speed? The device is in your hand. Imagine this would have been cheaper if those unnecessary features weren't there.

Was your a BF deal or that one YMMV target deal?
I went to 2 targets right nearby me and got 7 of them. Kept one, sold the rest on eBay for $95 a pop 🤷 .
The mini is good and has worked well. I use it daily, but I do find myself hitting the 20lbs limit fairly often and wouldn't mind trying out the longer stroke length. I doubt I would get anything by going beyond 30lbs of force.

I've had both a cheap version before I was able to get the Theragun mini
The biggest difference is build quality. Brand name companies put more into these things staying together after 100s of hours of use.
All my generic versions (3 of them) have fallen apart in less than a year.

Asking for a friend.

Imagine a $200 device can replace you at times. 😅
