I do hope this gets an anime or mini series made of it, so much potential. The sons of ares audiobooks, while short, are pretty entertaining as well.

I was hyped for the fourth one when I came to know about it. But when the reviews came out, plenty of them were brutal. So I decided to wait it out. I'll let the series end and then decide based on reviews if the last 4 are worth reading.
Have been burned by poor endings in the past, where authors either get bored and end stuff abruptly without tying off all the loose ends, or they prolong a series beyond its welcome. Stretching a series to get more sales is sadly a common enough tactic. Whenever an author says - I had one book in mind for the end, but now it's going to be two books, it's rarely a good sign. You end up getting too much padding in the last books.
Anyway, I'm keeping my mind open. But will only read them if the final verdict after the series has finished seems positive.
For anyone getting this — The first trilogy is quite self contained. It finished the original story satisfactorily. The original trilogy did well so the author continued the story past the 'end'. And so you can presume you are committing yourself to just 3 books - not 7. There is no need to start the fourth one if the second series turns out to be not as good.
