Battery life: (close to 10hrs) It dropped 10% per hour with moderate web browsing and Excel, but I never let it go below 30% so don't know past that
Screen: 300 nits is a bit low, but the screen is still gorgeous otherwise. The fact that it's matte makes it better outdoors than most
Gaming: ~140fps on League of Legends 1080p and ~80-90fps CS:GO on 900p stretched low. Might be able to push a bit further if you play with the power settings
Speed: Startup times and application start times are lightning fast, honestly faster than my M1 Pro Macbook.
I still have the laptop in case I want to revert back because right now it seems on par with my macbook despite the mac being much heavier. Hope this helps.
Found out that you can actually configure the laptop and get it for cheaper using different coupons. The SSD and OS can be upgraded later on down the road so it's not necessary to pay for them right now and better to invest in a better screen which can't be changed after buying.
The screen is QHD on this one vs the FHD+ on the other deal.

With student discount it comes out to $721.09 + I have the $100 AMEX offer. The thing that's got me hesitant is the screen size.
I'm not looking to get this for gaming, mostly for coding on the go and I do so now on a 14" Lenovo IdeaPad 3. This would be an amazing "for years to come" purchase, but that small screen =(

however, i do miss windows as an OS, the 180 degree hinge, the lighter weight, and the startup times of the thinkbook. I think that if you're going purely performance for dollar the thinkbook cant be beat
it is "AMD Ryzen™ 5 6600U Processor (2.90 GHz up to 4.50 GHz)" instead of 6800

Baseline for buying a new laptop in 2023: 120hz 1440p + 16G mem
anything below it is okay to use, but I wouldn't suggest my friend buying any.
If they don't ship by 11/14 I will cancel up
