From previous Tracfone experience, you receive a text when the phone is eligible to unlock, and then you go to the website to get the codes. You can text unlock to 611611 (customer service number) to find out when the phone is eligible to unlock. This phone comes with 1 year of service so no need to worry about buying extra refill cards for service days.

Yes. You can join Tracfone rewards. Join with a referral to earn 5000 points. There are more ways to earn points that you can use to "buy" minutes/texts/data. The best place to buy data is from Target when they have a promo. It is $10/gb. Save 5% with their Redcard and they often have BOGO 10% off.

Yes, no, and yes (after unlock but you would lose any unused min/text/data).

Tracfone has the worst tech support in the world. I have been trying to get my number move from my old phone to the Moto G Stylus 5G for 6 days, wasted about 12 hours of my life talking to around 24 different tech support morons and still can't get the problem fix. I'm almost ready to file a complaint with the BBB. Stay away from this company or pray everyday that you never have to use Tracfone tech support.

I'm done with Moto's after owning a few (G6 which is an excellent one, but junk speaker and Pure because it was free). Last week I got a new in sealed box Pixel 3a for $93. and 2 day free shipping and what a excellent phone that performs so much better than any Moto. With a killer camera, dual speakers, bloat free, and unlocked for any network, it's a sweet deal. Google photos free high quality and unlimited photo storage is a nice bonus.

EDIT: I called Google and was pleased to find out the phone is under 1 year warranty despite it not a current model. I just got the Android 12 update too.
