Hearos are fantastic. I wear the step down in protection every night to block the wife and dogs snooring.
Kick em all out
I've been using them for years. Best noise reduction I can/could find. I still haven't opened either of the 2 jugs I bought last time they were on sale because I'm still working on the previous box from Amazon. I use them at the shooting range and for motorcycle riding.

Too bad all the people around you don't have earplugs too.
I hate the sound of a detuned lawnmower without a muffler. I wish people would be more thoughtful about their fellow man.

Are these good for ear pressure while in a plane landing/takeoff
I'm an airline pilot and I wear foam plugs (usually EAR) and none of them have anything to do with cabin pressure. They will not help or hurt your ears because they don't block air leaving or entering your ear canal. They only impact the noise you hear.

They're great for airline travel but forget about any help with pressure discomfort. Best to learn to equalize your ears. I call it valsalva but I could be wrong. Google around for techniques and try a few. Earplugs aren't one of them.

I'm in for a set. I've been using Mack and 3M plugs for years. I found a couple years ago that if you hold foam ear plugs under water to fill the air pockets and then squeeze them to rid the excess just leaving them damp, it blocks a higher level of noise than if they're dry.

Even better idea. Just buy some $30 concert or motorcycle earplugs on Amazon and never have to buy earplugs again. The ones I have are called Eargasm but there are cheaper ones. I had lost one of the earplugs, and sent them an email with my Amazon receipt, and they sent me a new pair.

Looks like those provide around half of the noise reduction that the Hearos ear plugs do. NRR 16 dB vs NRR 33 dB. Probably for different use cases. Concerts where you want to hear more versus sleeping, etc.

Protip: if you work in a factory, you can get as many of these for free as often as you need them.

These were good like 5 years ago when they switched the production to MX and it was really bad. Even when they returned to the US, it was not as good as before. Too bad, they were the best in the past.

100% accurate.

10 years ago, these were an easy choice. Even preferred by musicians for being comfortable while still providing decent range of the reduced levels passing through.

I switched to Mack's Ultra Soft after being shocked by the drop in quality from Hearos 5-6 years ago.

edit: just checked reviews on Mack's and it looks like they also suffered from a producer shift or knock-offs ~2 years ago. Lots of Amazon reviews about new ordered product not matching prior plugs. Such an annoying problem.

Not enough for what? I have used them for sleeping and they work just fine.

I was using the one I have as an example, to show there are earplugs that are not single use and contribute to environmental waste.

There are other non-single use earplugs that reduce more noise.

Here's a random one from Amazon with good reviews and 26 NRR.

Thanks for the posting. In for a buy. Been using many for years for gas yard equipment and motorcycling. They did have a design change which was inferior but switched back to the original (or close enough for me) due to customer complaints.
