They've held up pretty well outside for most of that time exposed to the elements. I've used them as legs to a portable outdoor workbench made from scrap 2xs and plywood.

What are you putting on these that you need them to hold 1000lb?

I have 4 sets of these and they are absolutely amazing. Super lightweight, compact and i really like how they connect together. We use them in our steel fabrication shop and they hold up quite well even under substantial loads. With that being said, you are right, the Lowes ones do look similar and are actually a few dollars cheaper so no reason not go with the Lowe's ones over these
