Once you get shop card, immediately log back in and turn OFF auto renew. That flags system to send you out marketing communication (normally on monthly flyer) to renew with $20 off for 2024 via in store.

My membership expires Jan 31 2023
The membership lasts 13 months if you do it right. I usually skip 1 month between memberships - I stock up on everything on last day.
Anyway not relevant, as they will find previous account if you use the Driver License as ID. You have to get creative to avoid that.
