I hadn't heard of the NYPost Store before, but at least for this item it is the same as Stack Social. They both contain a link that goes to the Groupon FAQ page.
There is a thread with a better offer of Club Membership at $20 with $10 gift card. But it has negative points due to the website selling that offer, which is why I looked for these other deals.

I just did this and it worked fine, seems more like a technical/user issue with the ones that left bad reviews. They send the membership activation code in a PDF file, same thing with the e-gift card. Make sure you check the attachments in the email and follow the directions for redeeming each.
