I missed doing it last year but did it the year before and several years prior to that. They really messed up the rebates for year 2020 and I did have to call them a few times. Interesting--they paid me double/triple for many and it was a HUGE MM. It did take me a few calls and not sure how they recalculated them but I sure wasn't complaining nor did I call them back to tell them they screwed up again. I can't remember the exact amount they over paid but it was at least a few hundred dollars or more. They sure have a stupid way of figuring out rebates. I have a Kohl's gift card from a return that seems to allow the discount so I'll probably use it and try again this year if I can get them free or turn them into a MM.
I do have a 30% coupon and it says for credit card but I purchased last night and it allowed me to use the Kohl's Gift card and didn't deduct from the 30%. I'll take a chance on making money on their crappy rebate system.

Go to their clearance section online, sort low to high. Usually some old holidays stuff (like July 4 or Halloween) is pretty cheap, $1-3 items. or select clothing items.
Or go to their kitchen area, some times they'll have a single spoon or knife in the same price range.
