I've bought these several times over the years and I've used them as inexpensive gifts, pots and pans that stay in a cabin to use over a wood stove and campfire, in the actual kitchen and i have two sets that I use in my workshop chem lab.
The non-stick are trash, the coating does not last very long. I bought one non-stick and even with light use with plastic utensils it's still broke down and started peeling in less than 6 months.
The stainless steel however is a good value in my opinion. That isn't because I think the build quality is amazing or anything, it isn't, it's fairly cheaply built and the stainless steel walls in the pots and pans are pretty thin. The reason why I think they are good value is because they are stainless steel and they hold up tremendously well compared to non-stick. Because they are thin walled you really can't use high heat for anything except boiling, but for slower cooked med. heat meals, sauces, etc they work great. Especially with acidic food like tomato sauces.
If you're intentionally trying to sear or pan fry food, this works out great. If you're trying to quickly make pancakes at a higher heat, you're going to have some unevenly cooked and/or burnt pancakes.
These are inexpensive pans that have very specific cooking characteristics that need to be acknowledged when you use them, otherwise you're going to have problems. 🍳
If nothing else, you can get yourself a whole bunch of spare lids for your other pots and pans. 😅
