No leather upper. No Vibram outsole. Not rated highly as a trail running shoe. No, sir, I don't like it.

I'd wait for a deal on a Merrell Moab Vent or something similar.

Thanks. I've used Merrell's before for actually hiking.
I'm hoping for these to replace my daily Skechers shoes that I have now.
I'm a bit worried that they are standard width, but IIRC the toebox on Merrell's isn't too tight.

Have a FamousFootwear near me, so I can return if no good, but the price seems good for the shoe.

Thanks for the post! I used to wear Merrell exclusively, however I feel their quality and sizing has deteriorated over the last 5-8 years or so. I will give these a go though because it is an easy return if they aren't up to snuff or fit oddly like some other versions of their shoes I've purchased of late. I hope they work!

Good analysis and conclusion. Applause

I'd skip as well.

100% agree. After 2 weeks in a trail shoe, the sole started to peal. They gave me a refund and told me to keep them, no questions, pictures or concern. I've moved on to Allbirds.

I've been eyeing some allbirds for travel purposes, haven't pulled the trigger yet. Good to hear a plug for them!

Extremely comfortable, although the treads wore out way before the rest of the shoe.

I've been into allbirds for a few years too.
Very comfortable, not very durable, especially for anything beyond standard walking.

I picked up some Moab Vents from Merrell directly for $10 more than this 2 weeks ago. I am liking them as much as my Lowas.

The quality of Merrell has dropped significantly over the last 10 years. It used to be EVERY single guy in the middle east rocked Merrell's. Now the quality isn't as good.

That said, agree with the poster above who said to go for the Moab Vent or a similar one if you are going to get Merrell's. It's the best quality of their shoe line. I'm guessing the ones listed here will fall apart very quickly.
