The bonded coating will flake, and look terrible after a year or slightly more, the padding will disintegrate in the bottom quickly. once the coating starts flaking you can cover it with a blanket, and once the padding looses bounce you can add a pillow, or memory foam pad or whatever. If you use it once a week to handle your bills, its fine, if you are doing 8 hours WFH a day, I would spend more.

Ashamed for what? Companies aren't going to stock something that people aren't willing to buy. That's how we got ourselves into the affordability and ownership over expensive but durable consumer market.

TLDR: If people stop buying crap, then we'll see less of it. But they won't.

There are ways to create affordable goods without resorting to using such piss-poor materials. I'm not suggesting to eliminate the cost-conscious/low end segment of products whatsoever, just to be more earnest of how they create them.

The materials on this product are absolute garbage.

For this specific model, sure. But holistically, no. We've seen bonded leather chairs for decades. People just keep buying them because they hit a price point.

I was about to say the same. Bonded leather should not exist. At least w vinyl/fake leather, although sweaty to sit on for extended periods, it won't flake. If you're going to go cheap, better to go that route, mesh, or fabric. I will never buy bonded leather anything again, as long as I live
