Why does Slickdeals recommend Expedia?
"Slickdeals.net is a participant in the Expedia Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Expedia.com.
pay-per-sale: In this type of program, the merchant pays an affiliate when the affiliate sends a customer who makes a purchase. Some merchants pay the affiliate a fixed rate per sale while others, like Expedia, pay a percentage of the sale.
pay-per-click: In this arrangement, the affiliate is paid based on how many visitors arrive at the merchant's site via the affiliate link, and the affiliate is paid regardless of whether visitors make a purchase.
pay-per-lead: This type of program pays affiliates based on the number of visitors to the merchant's site who sign up as leads or fill out the requested information on the website."
In other words, it doesn't have to be a good deal or even a deal to get posted. Slickdeals is owned by Goldman Sachs and those links, pay-per-click, and affilate fees add up to a sizeable amount of money paid out by Expedia and others. Amazon is their biggest affiliate. That's why you will find the vast majority of posts from SD staff are for Amazon "no deal" items.

No complaints, in general, especially given how cheap the cruise was. Be aware that the Carnival Conquest seems to be one of their older ships. It's clean, but the pool is small and the water slides are a little short. Food is good, and the fees are all inclusive. We hit a storm the first day out, and the ship did sway some. Make sure you bring sea sickness medication if you're not sure if you get sea sick. The onboard store ran out of the medication that day.
Watch out for the additional fees, we purchased the Internet access and the Bubbles package (the soda package). The big fees are the shore excursions. Make sure you research on YouTube on what is worth going to.
All in all, it's a decent, cheap vacation. I think next time we'll go on a more modern ship that has more of everything (bigger pool, more entertainment, etc).

Any suggestions
My rule of thumb is anything less than $100/person/day after everything is paid is a good deal.
Keep in mind that your room, travel, entertainment and all meals are included in that price.
I always book directly with the cruise line because I've heard horror stories about booking through 3rd party websites.
