Yes do not buy without insurance or Costco
These things still have garbage reliability?
Be careful with this. This is the "core" version that does not include all the same parts as the original Elite Series 2. There is a reason it is a lot cheaper.

I returned mine. Controller felt wonky compared to my elite 1. Felt smaller too. Not impressed.

Thanks. I did spring for a Polar White because it was $30 and I do like pandas, but I don't think I can do this - even if it didn't have all that reliability baggage.

It's worth it when you buy the Microsoft extended warranty for 3 years from Microsoft's website

If I don't use the accessories is this even worth it over the regular core controller?

Newegg is offering 3 years for $18 and 4 years for $22 through All-State. No experience with the process, just saw it. Is this controller worth it?

If you get a good one, it's the best controller on the market. Big if, though. Love my elite 2.

I love my elite series 2. It's smaller than the elite series 1. Similar to the Xbox series S/X controller size wise. But definitely get the warranty. I'm about to get my 3 controller because of an unresponsive A button.

Also Microsoft sends refurbished controllers for replacement orders

Can you purchase a a MSFT extended warranty if you buy it from Newegg? I'd rather do that if possible then to get one from newegg.

Do yourselves a favor spend the extra 17 dollars for the 3 year extended warranty. 1st youll most likely use it. 2nd if you buy it after it cost 30 instead of 17. I have the elite series 2. Mine just broke. To fix it it is 79.99. Which is why i am buying this.

I have used the extended warranty via All State (that is what Walmart uses) for PS4, Switch and Xbox One controllers. You have to turn in your broken controller and then they send you a check for the amount you paid.

That's BS....I have had the original Black Elite Series 2 since its launch over 3 years ago and have had ZERO issues with my controller. It is the finest controller I have ever owned and continues to perform perfectly.

I have been waiting patiently for the the Elite Series 2 to be available in the Design Lab and gladly dropped $ 220 for the fully customized Elite package the first chance I got (its on its way).

If you are worried about reliability and analog stick drift you should be buying all your controllers (no matter the system) with a credit card that doubles the warranty or an extended warranty itself.
I guess you are one of the lucky ones. I had mine from launch and it had issues after a year. Got it replaces and that one lasted a few months. My current one started having issues with the rb a few weeks ago and was no longer under warranty but I was able to fix it in a few minutes by opening it up and folding that little plastic piece between the rb button
