Can someone explain why the thumbs down? It this not a good product?
you can get a decent obd scanner for $10. Like the bafx from eBay. if you want something that can also write back, it would be OBDLink LX for $50ish.
This is just a scanner with proprietary app is my understanding. Torque is great app in play store that supports most obd2 readers that uses elm327
There is nothing wrong with it. It's a good scanner for the price. The Blue Driver and there is another very similar to the Blue Diver; however, the name escapes me right now, are the best in this category. They are also around $120, you can sometimes get a $20 coupon on Amazon. The real selling point to the Fixd scanners are they are very user friendly, they offer a annual subscription for a little under $6 a month where you can talk to someone if you are not 100% sure how to read something, they will give you other advice as well. This is perfect for someone that might be a DIY type but is not super comfortable when it comes to working on a car. I would say if you just want something basic, are going to take advantage of the Premium support grab this! I would assume Fixd doesn't care if you pay for this or not as long as you get the Premium subscription. Not a bad thing and may even fit a lot of peoples needs. I would say if you are comfortable with working on a car, don't have access to a $1000 plus scanner, and don't need the premium support look into the Blue Driver. A good point was made earlier if you don't want to interface it with your phone, you can fine a ton of basic scan tools on sale today. I personally like the option to interface with a phone or tablet so I can take screenshots. Hope this helps someone that is unsure.
