These are only common level gear and +2 to your strength/body stat. There are better choices out there unless you are low level and trying to grind to better stats. A warning though some think these add +5 to charisma and I see many failing attempts by folks trying impress potential mates/companions.
Hahah what?
Other dude stuff like not listening to other dudes on the internet giving psuedo alpha advice?
...I have calluses and still own a pair of gloves. (Just bought these). The point is, the deal is slick. Buy a cheap pair and use them when you need them. With my gloves on or off, I still mange to outlift 90% of people in the gym. I got there by not listening to the "dude" who is more concerned about what other "dudes" think....

It was a joke. I'm working on my grip strength for sure but there's so much volume it's sometimes the smart move to have some assistance. I have my callouses built up and I'm doing great. My grip is limited because I had pretty bad tendonitis in my elbows. Everything has it's time and place. Blanket statements without knowing someone's goals and routine is kinda mindless
Workout gloves may help a smidge bit with grip but for me avoiding calluses is the main reason. If people really want to improve grip strength, I recommend captains of crush grippers. The gripper can range from 60 pounds to 365 pounds. I use them once a week (4 rep sets) along with various forearm exercises. I always take off the gloves when I do forearm exercises though. Seated wrist curls (palms up or palms down), gripper, wrist twist exercises and there are many more. Here is a website listing some.

If you are lucky, your gym will have a Hammer Strength Plate-loaded gripper. I loved that machine but too bad my current gym doesn't have it. Wow! That machine costs like $1,200. Quite expensive but it would be used by so many people.

Bodybuilders don't necessarily always lift heavier. They have specific workout routines that are more focused on how to make your muscles look good. On the other hand, there are power lifters who actually go for extremely heavy weights and push themselves to the max. Weight lifting gloves are more appreciated by such power weight lifters, rather than bodybuilders.
You may be thinking of wrist wraps or wrist straps, as those are more commonly used in powerlifting than gloves

This guy gets it. I use wrist wraps/support since I had carpel tunnel surgery years ago. This helps if you lift heavy.

I'm not actually. I used to be a certified trainer and have been lifting for 20 yrs. What I've noticed is that there are those who like to boast how tough they are by saying gloves are for *fill in the blank* and then those who use them functionally. Also, truly experienced lifter switches between gloves, straps, etc., depending on the workout they are doing contrary to how inexperienced people think you either use or don't use something or always use something.

Some poor guy posts a nice deal on gloves and the thread devolves into the dumpster fire I expected it to be.

I'll NEVER understand why the hell people get on others who choose to wear them. For me, my girlfriend at the time, now my wife, made it clear from the beginning that she hated the feel of calluses on her soft skin, so it's been gloves for me ever since and I regret nothing. Haters can go fk right off

What's the blank? Gloves are for snowmen? Gloves are for hands?
