My only concern is not sure about the fan noise, any idea?

if fan noise is an issue, i would highly recommend finding a review for this exact model.
my in personal experience, fans only become an issue during high res gaming on laptops where a lot more power is dedicated to graphics.

Edit: Sorry. I have the AMD version, so I'm not sure if the Intel fan noise is any different.

i have the Slim 7 Pro X from costco, really like it... but the port selection on this one is nicer. I used it plugged in most of the time, so battery isn't a big concern, but knowing that the AMD one prob gets like 1.5-2x the battery life for simple stuff is kind of important, for perhaps a plane ride.
performance looks like it's probably a wash because the 12700h in a small chassis is like that, but that hdmi and thunderbolt would be nice.
and this one is cheaper. hmm

Battery life figures attached..
In web browsing, AMD model is 50% better
In video watching, AMD model is 74% better
In PCMark10 Apps, AMD model is ~23% better

Wondering if the extra $150 or so is worth the RAM upgrade and better intel chip (other model has AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS), but given those marks it seems AMD version is better?

CPU performance will be pretty similar I think. But if you need thunderbolt 4 and/or Hdmi then that's a plus here
I currently have the T14 AMD Gen1 and added a modem card for a data SIM (from another Slickdeal: T-Mobile $10 per month data SIM card).
I've been looking at upgrading to a new Lenovo but it's hard to find info on which product lines have WWAN as an option.

Same position as you. Ironically I also have the T14s AMD Gen 1 and the $10 T-mobile card.
You need to go to the Thinkpad line in order to get the WWAN options. (T14s, X1 Carbon, X1 Yoga, P1 Gen 5, etc...)
