Yes. It's not the volume that causes ringing. It's the amount of air these push into the ear canal coupled with the tight Seal around your ears. it's a shame cuz they sound great otherwise

Those aren't exactly selling like hot cakes right now.
$799 here in the US is very steep when reviews all over youtube are mostly equating Bathys to Airpods Max (both are fantastic). Maybe Focal should bring the Bathys closer to Airpod Max's $549 retail.
I get it, but these have been around for years. Did they overproduce them by 500k units or something? Either way, they are definitely not a $900 headphone on sale. They are ~$300 headphone with a flimsy headband. A 1992 BMW that used to cost $100k is not still a $100k car these days.
According to your analogy, that 1992 BMW was not worth anywhere near $100k even when it was new.
For all the people saying the headband is weak, you are out of your mind. I am not gentle to my equipment and I have had 0 issues. Im a big dude and I have rolled over them while sitting in my chair on a few occasions and they are still fine.

i think you are missing the point. the point being made is the msrp of this headphone is no longer a good reference point because the "everyday price" of these headphones is usually ~ $300-400. So while this is a sale and i think its one of lowest prices ive seen on these, its not like you are getting a $900 headphone for 66% off as adorama would want u to believe.

The point is these were legitimately $899 when they were released, just like your $100k BMW when it was new. Either we can talk about how much they were worth when released or how much they are worth now. Pick one.

it is completely irrelevant to someone purchasing it now, how much the item was worth or sold for or priced at release. doesnt matter what the item is or if it went up or down in price as long as the price is no longer a good reference point. hope that makes sense

I understand your point, it just makes your BMW reference irrelevant.
Received my headphones on Thursdays and for $299.99 it's worth it in my opinion.
No burn in time for me and maybe they will sound better when these cans get more seat time. I was listening to k-j-c-pops, Rap/R&B and Soft rock / alternative. The highs are bright just like how I like them but the low end base seems to be lacking but the mid range are perfectly fine in my opinion.

I will see if they will give me $29 back.

Try oratory1990's EQ.
It NEEDS eq
What are you comparing then too?
What are you using to drive them?
What kind of music do you like to listen too?
I like the HD600
These do NEED EQ.
