If you like things bundled, get cable
there is a holiday freeview starting later today for a lot of providers of premium channels
Why can't there just be a bundle to get everything? Why do we have to keep track of which show suddenly switches to one of 400 subscription sub channels of something?..

Because unlike the music industry the video industry has basically screwed itself over. Back in the day when it was just netflix people signed up because vs pirating it is easier to just subscribe to a service and have most of you want there people paid a little because it was convient. Now that there are 10+ services customers are confused on what is showing on what service. It is just easier to pirate and get what you want (specifically movies). I am not sure how much each platform is earning these companies but the industry cannot support it. They tried in video games where everything was on their specific store and it lasted like 5-7 years and now its all going back to 1-3 main stores. My suggestion is just pirate/rent movies you want to watch and for TV either find a service like youtube TV or cable. That being said it is still technically cheaper to sign up for a bunch of these vs cable (no clue why cable just doesn't come down in price since they have ad revenue as well) when I did the math on our family watches it was ~$20 cheaper/month to use the streaming services.

Ordered Showtime for a start.
Found out they now have 1+ minute promos, non skippable, you have to watch before what your movie begins. Like a hostage ya gotta waste time watching some crappy promo.
Just wrecks the mood ya in to watch what you selected to watch.

Ya, streaming entertainment services are all going this way..
Just wont go into a subscription with them.

Just a heads up if you're using PayPal as your Roku billing method this morning (Wed nov 30 6am pt).

There seems to be an issue with subscribing to one or more of the Black Friday Roku Channel deals if you use the roku website. The channel doesn't get added to the roku channel, you get an error message on the web and your PayPal account gets billed 99 cents. If you try again, same results. In my case, I tried subscribing to Epix three times and got dinged 99 cents three times in PayPal.

Online chat with roku support was not helpful, they kept giving me suggestions that was applicable if I had a credit card on file for roku payment. And I kept saying I'm using PayPal as the payment method. In parallel, I was I chatting with PayPal support and got the charges reversed. Took about 15 minutes total but ymmv.

I don't need to watch Epix that bad but I'll try again later in the day. I hadn't had an issue with subscribing to a premium channel in The Roku Channel before today. I've done it a handful of times when these deals appear so I'm thinking it's a temporary backend glitch on the roku billing side.

I had the same issue. I subscribe through the Roku channel on my Roku and had no issues paying with PayPal or with having my channel show up as a subscription on the Roku.
