they have been these prices at woot for months. Great deals for rods and combos good enough for 90% of those fly fishing.

Got the Path 490 outfit about a month ago. Caught a dozen fish so far and the rod handles very well. I doubt you could do better at this price, just the case and line would be near that price. The line is a bit stiff and has memory so might want to replace that if you're a serious fly-fisher but this will get a beginner going and happy for a good while.

I picked up two of the 476-4 (4 weight 7.5') rods. I have several 2 piece rods and none that are 4 piece. I want something I can pack in luggage or carry on plane.

This is actually a pretty great deal. Less than the cost of a new high-end fly line (which, incidentally, is the first thing you'd want to replace on this combo. The rest will work fine). It's a low-end outfit for sure, but totally serviceable. Like I said, maybe upgrade the line and you'll be good to go. Good for a beginner to intermediate. Or get a cheap rod in a line weight you don't have and don't use much. Or a backup to take on a trip in case your primary rod brake. Eg. Backup 8 weight for your trip to Alaska.

As a guide I get gear for very cheap on pro form, but I'm thinking about getting a couple of these combos for casting classes.
