I bought a new one from Costco early Nov and it came with front brake. Returned the old one (from July) without. I don't know if woot one had front brake. I'd personally wait for Costco who restock it from time to time. Same price anyway, not saving anything with woot.

The new one has other improvement: brake pads are now bigger rectangular shape, instead of old circle shape. I think the old one is more for scooters. Though I don't feel any noticeable difference. I ride on flat roads so even the old one worked fine.

Another change is that now level 1/2/3 also limit max speed for PAS mode. In the old version, levels only limit max speed for throttle and had no effect on PAS. E.g., I could be on level 1 and still pedal all the way to max ~20mph. Now I can't. Not a bad change — lower levels seem to consume battery slower (at the cost of lower speed) so if you are a few miles away from home and the battery shows empty bar, you can go down to level 2 to last longer (at a lower speed). Keep in mind this is a bike with cadence sensor, not torque (usually way more expensive), so the amount of help from motor is fixed (per level), and does not vary based on how hard you pedal.

One change I don't like is that they removed the voltage display. But they seem to have improved the accuracy of 5-bar gauge — old one jumped a lot between 1 and 4 bars when I go up hill. New one seems to fluctuate less drastically. I still want the old voltage display because I can control my charging pattern for battery health. Eg charge to 48-49v the night before. Then charge it to full right before I leave home next morning. (Your iPhone optimized charging works same way)

I ride it a few times a week to commute to work. 15 mi round trip. In summer it can handle round trip in one charge and still has 1-2 bars left. During winter the battery doesn't last as long (as expected) so I usually barely made it home with empty battery icon flashing. Now I bring charger into office and charge before going home.

Had about 700 mi on it (both old+new bikes combined). Generally happy. No major issues. Just need to adjust brake caliper centering a few times (happens to all bikes with disc).

Only complaint is that the motor helps me too much and makes me cold in winter riding as I'm not getting enough workout (but that's perfect for summer). That's how cadence sensor (instead of torque) works. Just wear more layers of clothes Smilie

If you want adjustable level of motor help so you can still workout a bit, get one with torque sensor, though they are usually a lot more expensive.

No front brakes, but can get some off of Amazon for ~$30. Also, a longer seat post is a must and was like $12 on Amazon.

If this is new model it does come with front breaks. I bought one from Costco a couple weeks ago.

I got this at Walmart a while back and use it maybe 3 or 4 times a week. It seems pretty well made, and reliable. No complaints so far.

18 mile claim, I think it is bogus. The is no space to put such a big battery. Unless they count with pedal assist...

I don't see a front brake in the picture still. Fwiw, mine from the Costco deal still sucks on braking with it's stock single mechanical disc brake i have to constantly readjust. Using it for school dropoff of my kids .

Next time costco has it in stock again, grab it and return the old one. New one from costco added front brake, and increased brake pad size.

According to my own testing in Bay Area CA for commuting:

Summer: 20 mi PAS3. 15 mi throttle only
Winter (~45-50F): 15 mi PAS3. Didn't test full throttle in winter but I'm guessing maybe 10-12.

My commute is 7.5 mi one way x 2. About 80 ft elevation gain one way in the morning, and 230 on the way back (usually 5-6PM and getting dark and cold). Also bike software came with wrong configuration of wheel size so mileage & speed were bloated. It can be fixed by user in advanced settings, and all above numbers are based on correct setting (and matches my Apple Watch and known distances on map).

Note this is a cadence sensor eBike. So it's level 1/2/3 are more like max speed limit instead of "level of help from motor". I do feel lower levels can save some battery but I almost always ride in 3 because I want to go as fast as I can.
