How are you getting both the device trade in $34 AND the $40 gift card. I don't understand that.
Instant $40 gift card for the trade in plus the 20% off for the trade in. Others are getting it too. Not sure why they don't give it to some people.

Luck of the draw really. I had several trade-ins over the past couple weeks that applied immediately while others wouldn't. I can't figure out why.

I ordered about 1.5 hours after I got an email confirmation for the $40 trade in gift card but it didn't apply. It's also possible that because my payment was made entirely with an Amazon gift card on my account that it didn't apply the separate $40 gift card.

I just brought in my trade in to their service center. Then I called Amazon and they told me I'd have to reorder and that I was misinformed. I went ahead and reorder and the discount applied to new order.

More importantly, is this a direct replacement with same drill hole location for an easy upgrade from 1st gen Pro?
Yes, the other upgrade is the added radar. The original pro doesn't have this where any movement, no matter how far away from the camera will trigger the alert. With the Pro 2, you can customize how far out you want the alert to be notified ( ie ignore any movement in this shaded box area that is more than 20 feet from the camera, etc)

Personally, I don't think these added features are that important for this price, even at the sales price. if this were 4k resolution with 60fps with better dynamic range than that would be a worthwhile upgrade. again, just my opinion. I would wait for the next version upgrade.

So it doesn't look like it's worth the $100 for the upgrade. I can already boxout the road and that.takes care of nuisance messages. Not sure why people are upgrading to this from the old pro. 1080p to 1500 something. Head to toe, why do I need to see the shoes? Color night vision, The lantern does a good job of lighting the subjects

I have no wires but I do have an outlet on the other side of my door wall…is this unit the right one to buy? Any other brands recommended? Don't really want to charge a doorbell.

Did anyone else order this from Lowes.com and have them ship you a regular Ring Pro instead?
