But then I received email from RedeemYourOffers.com with Subject "[ACTION REQUIRED] - Claim your reward from Office Depot".
After clicking on "Start Your Redemption" in that email I received email from them with Subject "[ACTION REQUIRED] - VVA25 Redemption Received".
That email said that I'd get yet another email from them asking me to "Verify" my information, but in fact the "Verify" button was in that email itself and no further email arrived despite my waiting for it (and then forgetting completely).
So today (thanks to your post reminding me) after going back to that last email and clicking on the "Verify" button in it, my browser was redirected to a screen saying "You Did It!" and that they would now "begin processing" the request.
Clearly they are hoping that a large percentage of folks will miss one or more of these steps and never have to be sent their $25 "reward". Shame on OfficeDepot for setting things up like that.
Yes, the email I received initially said that a "$25.00 Prepaid Virtual Visa" card was shipped along with a "Free Gift with $125 Purchase" that I did not receive any further email about. Screenshot attached here.
EDIT: When I go to look up the order status at officedepot.com, it appears that the mystery "Free Gift .." was just referencing the coupon for the $25 Visa card. Second screenshot attached here also.
Please know that per terms and conditions of the promotion You need to verify your award via the verification email within 15 days. You did not verify your award. In the screen shot below you will see the award email was sent to them on 12.1.22 which means you needed to confirm the award by 12.16.22. Your award is expired and the code is no longer valid.
Didn't receive anything through the holiday, and called OD again last week. No status and got this email today. I never was told by CSR to look for a verification email or that there would be an expiry for redemption, or where the email would be coming from.
Now, looking back, I see an email from "redeemyouroffers.com" which my gmail flagged as unimportant, and thus never showed up in my main inbox. When I click the "redeem" I now get the "Oops! It looks like Offer Code VVA25-16RER-V65X8 has expired. The terms of this promotion required it to be redeemed within 30 days, by 12-31-2022. Please Contact Support for additional help."
WTF? Worse handling of a promotion I've ever experienced.
I never once received an email other than the one notifying me of a shipment. I immediately called OD because one of the addresses was incorrect and the CSR assured me that it would be sent electronically in a follow-up email.

Thanks to this post of yours I remembered to check my email and found the mail from "[email protected]" dated January 9. Clicking on the link in there took me to a site where they asked for my name and address and email. Then a code appeared where I needed to go to another screen to enter the code. Things get fuzzy here, but after entering that second code they had me "create an account", then there was either another code or another email, I don't remember which. Eventually I got to a screen where i could choose either a virtual or physical card. Clicking on the physical card the reward is shown as only $22.15, not $25. So I clicked instead on the virtual card for $25. Then I got another email to activate the card and finally got a card number, CVV, and date of expiration (7/23).
This is the most blatant attempt at avoiding payment of a promised rebate that I have seen, and I have done hundreds of rebates over the years. Office Depot managed their offer shamefully.
At this point, I'm going to report them to the BBB and to the FTC for deceptive marketing practices.
It likely won't do much, but at least it will be on their record. I suggest y'all who experienced the same to do the same.

But I'd file a complaint with Office Depot also. They chose that rebate company and they should stand behind their choice. Plus their invoice shows a "virtual card" being "sent"; it doesn't say that there will be a long time "applying for a rebate" the way things turned out.

The third time I contacted OD, I finally got an email from the rebate company only to tell me I was past my redemption period.
Please don't buy Element products. Bought a monitor from them. It's only last 4 months and now it gives me blank screen when I turn on. I cannot return it because it's over 90 days return policy. Spent a lot of time through many calls to their customer service. They tried to ignored me by chasing around like "I'm getting an update for your case", "Someone will give you a call back at the end of the day or in 24 hours". Never got a call back. They keep doing that until I gave up. Like just thrown away a couple of hundred bucks.

Since OD's return policy is 14 days I had to go through Element customer service, which actually handled the case quickly but said: "Shipping a replacement is just not economically friendly currently in the market and for the environment. We will honor the warranty and refund you what you paid for the TV at the time of sale."
So it was a good deal while it lasted and I technically came out ahead since they refunded $140 (no tax refund but still got the $25 visa gift card), but now I'm inconvenienced and back to monitor shopping lol
