Others in this very thread have discussed numerous times how it differs from Tile (integrated into the core of Android OS and SmartThings, can use every other compatible Samsung Galaxy device to geolocate, doesn't require any 3rd part apps running in the background, only needs Bluetooth to be enabled, full integration into SmartThings for home automation routines based on Smart Tag button presses or geolocation. Major differences in both the tech and function.
But keep misdirecting, repeating your misinformation, and making personal attacks instead of learning about what this thread is actually discussing.

According to this [samsung.com], these are the requirements. Just make sure your S10s meet these:
⁴ Galaxy SmartTag is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones. Use with a Galaxy smartphone running Android 8.0 or higher with 2.0GB RAM and above. SmartThings app required
Just a little more information. But this is how Airtags and Tiles work as well. Neither of these have GPS either. Airtags rely on a nearby iPhones to track it's location. And Tile relies on a nearby device that has the Tile app installed to be able to track location.
I've seen a couple of YouTube videos and found that many were surprised that the Galaxy SmartTags slightly outperformed Airtags when it came to real time tracking. One would think that there are more iPhones in the public. However, at the same time, there are so many different Samsungs (Galaxy Z, A, S, FE), that there is a pretty extensive network for Samsung as well. And SmartTags works with any Samsung phone that has Android 8 and above. So there are tons of devices out there that can track these SmartTags.
Most people seem to say that both Airtags and SmartTags perform pretty similarly. With, really, only two main differences.
1) Airtags are more secure in that you can find out if someone placed an airtag on you. Your iPhone will alert you if an unexpected airtag is following you. From what I understand, SmartTags do not have this yet.
2) SmartTags have an extra feature with the buttons. You can set single clicks, double clicks, and long presses to do different things. Especially if you have other smart home devices, this can be useful. Airtags do not have this feature.
Also, they do sue each other all the time. Though a few years ago, a couple of big tech companies agreed to reciprocally drop a number of big lawsuits against each other just to avoid bleeding out to lawyers and ending up worse off than they started.
