I have had this machine since 2018 and by far one of the best bread machines ever made. That said my better half has her own recipe for a whole wheat bread with flax seed, oats and some crushed nuts on the top of the bread. I have not eaten store bought bread for the last 23 odd years. We used to own Toastmaster Hearthmaker bread machine/toaster oven prior to this machine. We make bread every 4-5 days since it is a 2 lb loaf. We went blew through about 4-5 toastmaster breadmakers since the machine's motor used to burn out every 3-4 years.(had to resort to ebay and craigslist when they stopped making that machine). In 2018 we replaced our last toastmaster with this one. The only issue with this one is the paddles. The inner bore of the aluminium paddles is too soft and eventually wears out every 2-2.5 years if you make bread as frequently as we do. They slip off the central bore and the result is a brick in the bread maker since the kneading does not happen. All that needs is a paddle replacement which costs about $30 for a 2 pack. Zojirushi has not addressed the issue (which they can easily fix by making the paddles inner bore of a harder material). There are 3 rd party paddle makers but I have not tested their paddles. I have gone through one set of paddles already for this machine.
