I bought one of those Zippo Butane Lighters on a previous SD deal, and if you're interested, it was just posted, again, at the same price. Here's a link to the current Zippos butane lighter deal. That said, Walmart's price of $3.96 for almost 6 oz was by far the best deal I could find. Walmart also has this brand in a smaller 2.75 oz size for $2.82, but this would be twice the size for a little over only a dollar more.

Note - I bought 3 of these, myself. One Walmart near me was sold out, and another one had a bunch, but the one that had a bunch had them marked at $4.96. I showed the cashier the website showing $3.96 and she adjusted the price with no issue. Just be aware.

Product details
  • Designed to quickly refuel Ronson Lighters, torches, and other devices powered by butane. Features a universal fueling tip for easy filling.
  • Universal fueling tip; 290ml of Butane with as much fuel as 90 disposable lighters; easy filling and refilling; Dependable, quality product
  • Made in USA, in Bradford, PA

Yeah, I was just thinking I need to add info in the OP. Walmart is ridiculous and Walmart + is mostly a waste since half the stuff Walmart sells is not available for shipping via Walmart Plus. They want you to pay a third party company a $7 or more tip to deliver the item from the local store.

Suggest adding "Walmart" to the title at least

Your local smoke shops will have these, but off brand for $2, if anyone wants to save more cash.

I believe the camping butane (such as the one Coleman sells) uses a different nozzle that's designed for camping stoves and similar devices and not butane lighters.

Dollar Tree carries butane *lighters* [dollartree.com] at $1.25, but I've never seen butane refills at Dollar Tree. Even if they did carry them, butane is expensive per oz. This bottle at Walmart is almost 6 oz. It's doubtful Dollar Tree would be able to sell anything over 1oz at their $1.25 price limit. If you have evidence otherwise, feel free to post it, though.

This is bottom-tier butane. If you use it in a high-end lighter it will quickly clog the nozzle with deposits. If a butane lighter stops working, it's usually due to crappy fuel. Good butane has been hard to come by during the pandemic and there is obvious counterfeiting. If you care about such things, buy from the manufacturer directly (Xikar [xikar.com] is great) or a reputable cigar shop (B&M or through an online marketplace), not from a sketchy head shop or a no-name Amazon seller

Their high-altitude "high performance" product probably has a different mixture (probably more propane added in) but works really well for cleaning a lighter clogged-up with deposits, but is also presumably harder on the lighter components.

Prices are stupid these days, unfortunately. I would say a "deal" is getting the larger 400mL can for $6 or less, but it sells out and often goes for double that.

Some Kroger brands carry Colibri [fredmeyer.com] in-store for $6.95 which is also a quality product.

Definitely... when I swing by that side, I will post a snap. Also, Dollar tree now introduced several aisles of products that are not $1.25 anymore but higher ... as high as $10. Probably, I might have seen it there. I will update either way.

Interesting, it must be a YMMV thing, then, as I was just at the dollar tree the other day to buy hangers (Walmart sold out and over double the price if you can believe), but I didn't see anything there over $1.25.

Hey, I know this deal just died, but I was looking at those Colibri butane bottles being sold in 300ml sizes for about $9.50 a piece (2 for $19), but the Oz size on bottle stated 10.1 Oz @ 300ml. So, I had to do a quick google on 290ml (the size of these Ronson bottles) to Oz conversion and it looks like these Ronson bottles are actually 9.8 oz and not the 5.62oz size stated by Walmart. So, anyone who bought this - just FYI, it looks like this is really almost 10oz, and not the under 6oz stated in the OP that I took directly from Walmart.

The above said, I noticed you didn't mention UK made Whip-It when mentioning premium butanes. They claim to be the most premium, but I'm not sure who determines which butane is better than the other... but I did notice that a third party seller on Amazon is selling a 12 pack of Whip-It butane for $48 [amazon.com], and the bottles are 420ml a piece, which is fairly large for butane bottles. I did some quick math and that comes out to about $0.95 per 100 ml (but you have to buy $48 worth) while this Ronson / Walmart deal comes out to about $1.37 per 100ml, but you only have to buy one bottle at $3.96.

Thoughts?

The adapters are pretty cheap, like $5 for an adapter and you can fill your whatever lighter with a big butane can
