Strange. These are being marketed and sold as "Cordless Phone Replacement" batteries. They are only 700 mAh, as opposed to 800 mAh for other Amazon Basics AAA rechargeables.

Also, the quality of Amazon Basics rechargeables are complete garbage now. I purchased some AAA's last week, rated at 800 mAh. After charging and testing with my LaCrosse charger, it appears that at least half of the batteries won't deliver 800. Several are in low 700's.

Don't waste your money on Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries. The batteries I received all said made in China, and they're crap.
Why is it always China's fault? It's amazon who paid China to make cheap sh*tty product and then are selling it to the customers. Americans always seem to have this misplaced anger towards someone else while turning a blind eye to the part they play. It's so stupid and fascinating at the same time.
Amazon basic rechargeable batteries suck .. don't waste your money on these

The only thing I could find was a $5 rewards once per month, per customer.

I seem to always miss the deals on Eneloop nimh batteries. What are some decent lower priced alternatives ?
I don't think there has even been a deal in like 18 months.

Is this correct for rechargeables? Ni-Cd and NiMh are 1.2V. Li-ion is 1.5V.
That's why I said same chemistry. Ni-Cd and NiMh have always been and always will be 1.2v.

As for the li-ion ones, they have a voltage regulator to bring them down to 1.5v. Li-ion chemistry is really around 3.7v nominal.

Picked up quite a few basics AAA @ $0.55 /piece and AA @ @$0.45 /piece earlier and I think I'm prepared to be disappointed at some point.

lacrosse chargers are garbage. I used them for many years without knowing. I always used the lowest level of 200ma charge level but the charger wasn't able to detect when the batteries are full. they only stop charging after 32 hours as a hardwired protection for batteries. as a result the batteries are over charged all the time and destroyed overtime.
Which charger would you recommend?

Quick question. Only alkaline batteries leak? So these rechargeable Nimh will never leak at all? Even if placed in unused remote for say 5 years?
All of the batteries that leaked of my remote repairs were Alkalines. The worst were Kirkland brands. One of my remotes that I rarely use has been fine for 3 years with rechargeables. Not that it is impossible that rechargeables won't link, but very, very rarely.

I've had really good results with the Amazon AA rechargeable sand love them… however the AAA have been very underwhelming and I'm not a fan.

No, most chemistries can leak but the likelihood varies greatly. In my experience, alkaline are by far the worst. They leak often and it can make a huge mess. Duracell's seem particularly bad these days. I've reached the point where I'm actively avoiding alkaline batteries. I'd rather use zinc-chloride ("heavy duty") for low drain devices.

It seems very rare for NiMH batteries to leak. Just recently, I noticed that a few of my decommissioned ones have started to leak. Nearly all of them are LaCrosse branded ones (that came with the chargers). The vast majority are still fine, even my original Energizer's from the 90's.

I know what you're talking about. I'm starting to think that the "negative delta V" end-of-charge detection isn't all it's hyped up to be. Many smart chargers seem to overcharge to some extent. You can often tell because the battery will get much hotter when it's full. I've had some heat up so much that the label began to deform. Ironically, I think low charge rates may exacerbate the issue. I try to aim for charge rates of roughly .25C or so (about 500mA for AA and 300mA for AAA).

My lacrosse charger appears to not be charging properly after a decade of use. It could be the amazon basics batteries, too, though. Now that lacrosse doesn't make chargers anymore, do you know of any good replacement brands/models?
I've been happy with the urlhasbeenblocked C4. It's kind of similar to the LaCrosse but can also do standard (3.6V) Li-Ion batteries. It can also act as a USB power bank when Li-Ion batteries are in it.

Charging issues aren't always the fault of the charger. Batteries that are in poor condition can cause issues.

Oi, the name was blocked. Could you make it more apparent which c4 you're referencing? Thanks!
