The Frontier gate agents are strictly enforcing personal size at the gate. All personal items must fit in the metal bin at the gate without any pressure or force. These agents are a hired by a third party company and receive commission for each bag charged at the gate.

Personal item dimensions are 14 x 18 x 8. If your personal item does not fit without force they will charge you $100 for a "carry on" at the gate (each direction). Pro tip: you can purchase the carry on on the frontier website for $60 instead, as long as you can make the purchase before the door closes. The gate agents don't like this because they lose their commission. Be careful this holiday season.

Yeah it's ridiculous. I would understand if that tiny box was the size of under the seat but it's not. It's the size of a laptop lol

Saving this to show the wife before our trip in February. She always says "it's not like they're gonna care if it's a little over in size in one dircetion or the other, (or every direction the way she packs lol) and so far she's been right. They never check.

This is exact reason I always spend the extra money for a legit airline. Frontier seems cheaper up front, but miss something by an inch or oz and it ends up costing more.

Good info! Although you have to admit some people are out of their minds on how much they think they can push the rules. I've been super lucky this year to have the 100K elite status so basically got everything (bags, seats, etc) for free.

I really hope Frontier does another "status match" promotion this year Wink It was only $50 last year, and they matched hotel status also. I probably took 8-10 Frontier flights with the status so I saved probably $600-700 in fees.

That seems like the size of under the seat to me ...

Unfortunately over the years too many people have taken advantage of "carry on" and it slows down the boarding process. Just like sooner or later stores and air lines will have to start cracking down on "service dogs"

Not at all. Under the seat has more height. I've gotten a fully fat backpack down there with no issues that wouldn't fit on frontiers tiny box

Yeah, I've gotten stuff that fits under the seat that doesn't fit in frontiers box. Idk what it is but it's for sure smaller than under seat lol

When the personal item fees are the same price as a ticket, I no longer use an airline.
There is nickle and diming someone, but this is outright abuse.

You have to be the luckiest person in America, everyone that I know that has flown frontier airlines including me has been stuck somewhere because of plane or pilot issues. And now they are saying all customer care is automated.😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
