Had the same experience. I think our first 3 robot vacuums were all irobots.

All died within 2 years and were run several days a week but not every day. I finally gave up on the company and started searching around.

Neato was a major disappointment. Loud, didn't clean well, and too thick to fit under things.

Bought an off brand name off Amazon with good reviews and it didn't last.

Most recently went with a eufy from Walmart. No fancy bells and whistles just the base model. By far the thinnest robot vacuum we've owned which is good and bad. Good because it cleans under our coffee table (low clearance). Bad because it goes under my mother in laws stove. Problem with these things, they can get stuck if the run over something or the battery dies. The eufy has survived the best out of all of them. It has fallen down stairs a couple times after the sensors were probably blocked (also happened with the irobot) and it amazingly kept running after the tumble. At 1/3 the price of an irobot, I'll gladly buy a new one when it kicks the bucket.
Just curious about what crapped out on the roomba? I've been getting them second hand locally at a really cheap price or sometimes even free. Most times it doesn't have any issues other than needing a thorough cleaning and sometimes it might be the battery. Yes, the battery is quite expensive on ebay even when it is used but I've been able to get broken roombas for free locally if I wait long enough and can usually salvage the battery if the rest of the robot is beyond repair.

Some problems I've ran into were faulty wheel motors, faulty spin brush motor, full bin sensor issue. As for cleaning them, I just use a leaf blower and I clean out the bin thoroughly. I remove and clean up the rollers as well as the front wheel caster. Not sure if the newer models have more issues but I've been cleaning up old ones to flip or give to family members.

That iRobot in question smeared my whole farking house with poop on numerous occasions. I'd spend whole Saturdays scrubbing the floors and carpet cleaning the huge living room area. Got so tired of that. Supposedly, IRobot has some type of Pet Sh!t guarantee, but I'll never give them a penny to test them on it.

For backstory, I had a cat that pooped or caused one of my cats to poop outside the litter box. I don't know and don't care which one was doing it. I no longer have the cat in question: I gave him to my daughter because her female cat she couldn't take to college and I got attached and that female cat hated that male cat so much it was causing the issues.
I've heard that robot vacuums literally scare the poop out of pets, probably best to keep the pets locked in one room when leaving the house and letting the roomba clean up the rest of the house.

Just a heads-up that two of these that I've ordered as refurbished have all died in the past 6 months. Allstate cashed me out after they trashed my i7 and sent me someone else's human waste in the Cleanbase. I just tried to use the one I purchased from this deal and it evidently is dead on arrival and won't charge. At first I thought these i7+ deals were really good with the Allstate warranty but now I'm seeing how much time I'm spending and thinking not so much. When I see that they have now sold 6,000 refurbished units it makes me wonder just how much QC do they really do have with their robots?
