x80=60hz x85 is 120hz.
Not a bad entry level TV with a brand name on it, but I am waiting for the x90 or x85 to drop in price. Ratings on the x80 or mediocre at best My current Sony 1080p(65w850 a) has served me well for the last decade and still has a stunning picture.

Unfortunately not. Most people just look at screen size and cost.

I have a KDL 60w850b which has worked fine for me for about the same period of time. I upgraded to the bb sharp 65 inch TV during Black Friday. Picture quality is really no better, minus the benefits of HDR and 4k. The only thing pushing me away is my Sony has really bad backlight bleed on the top edge.

Mine is the 3d version, which I have only used a few times(in the first couple years). I don't have much bleeding problems, but when it displays 1 color on the whole screen, including black, it is definitely has cloudy/white corners. But when watching live sports, the colors are vivid, bright and amazing. Since there isn't much 4k available, I am in no real hurry to upgrade. I think I paid around $1600 for it, but I have gotten my monies wort out of it Wink

Yeah mine I got on sales at Fry's for around 700. Mine has 3d too. The bleed is bad, visible even on bright scenes. I regret not exchanging it. But I had to drive maybe an hour and a half to pick it up. I didn't want to make a trip back so I got used it it.

Mine is definitely lower in the line, but just wanted to agree that older Sony's were really good. I still use my 1080p KDL-40W600B as a PC monitor and watch a good bit of 1080p media on it. Picture quality is still very good and the blacks, being a VA panel from that era, are so much better than my 1440p 144hz IPS monitor next to it. I use the IPS for gaming/work and the KDL VA for media.

You can't beat Sony quality. I am still using my $4000 1080p XBR from 2005 as I type this message using it as a monitor. Every day for 17 years if you can believe it. The picture is still perfect and it has never crashed even once. I'll spend the money - but only once.

My next Sony will be a top of the line OLED... if this tv ever dies.
