Product Description: | Sigma 90mm f/2.8 DG DN.
In the era of mirrorless cameras, the balance between performance and size is even more crucial. There is a growing demand for "compact, high-performance, high-quality lenses" and SIGMA responds to this call with the "I" series of full-frame mirrorless exclusive lenses. Available for L-Mount and Sony E mount, DG indicates full-frame sensor coverage, and DN indicates mirrorless-exclusive design. The I Series represent a new option: Premium, Compact Primes that are stylish in appearance, with impressive specifications and optical performance. Introducing the 90mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lens. With its versatile mid-telephoto focal length, the lens is the longest I series lens yet, but still remains remarkably compact and light so is ideal for day-to-day use.
The Ideal Mirrorless Lens.
The lens also utilizes the camera's optical correction functionality, which is an advantage of mirrorless systems, SIGMA's optical designers were able to concentrate on correcting aberrations that can only be corrected by the optical design, thereby improving rendering performance and reducing the size and weight of the lens. With a minimum focusing distance of 50cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5, close-up macro-style photography is possible. The lens highlights the subject, allowing photographers to focus in on fine details or create more abstract compositions. The 90mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary shares the same 64mm maximum diameter and 55mm filter size as the 24mm F3.5 DG DN | Contemporary and the 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary, making them a natural trio, especially for filmmakers who use filters more regularly.

It was my first Sigma lens for Sony FE. I shoot GM lens mostly, but this one was in the slightly wider than Nifty 50 range, and is very compact.
I took it on vacation as a travel lens that is compact, light and does not make me look like some crazy tourist.
I was very impressed with what it could do and the sharpness. Color accuracy was good as well.
I would highly suggest the 45mm. Also at $399: https://www.adorama.com/sg4528soe.html
90 would be ok, but it is not wide enough for the pictures I like to take when traveling.
24 is too wide as well, but could work for some people. 45 was the sweet spot for me as a single lens that is light and I do not need to change out.
If I need to zoom in or out, I just move my feet.
Also, with large FE sensor, just shoot raw and trim as needed if you need to zoom in at post.
This lens is super compact compared to any of my GM or G primes. Very sturdy metal build as well.
