Ironically, now my petty knife will be better quality/higher priced that my actual gyuto and nakiri. If you're looking for those on the cheap end with a good steel and price/value, the Tojiro DP bolsterless line is great (either from chefknivestogo or ebay). Wouldn't go with their cheaper stamped line, Fuji Narihira/Cutlery/Reigetsu. Cant beat ~$30 per knife with VG-10 steel.
