I would skip the 6 series and go for the 7 series. Too many problems
Probably because Pixel 7's have been hovering around that price for a month now straight from google or another reputable seller. I'm not gonna buy a phone from some random internet stranger when I can get it for essentially the same price from amazon or best buy
"Refurbished phones are not guaranteed to maintain their waterproof seal"

that's a deal breaker for me

Yeah. But the real deal is on the 256GB version because the 128 is priced at 349 and 256 at 365.

I love my Pixel 6 Pro! Haven't had many issues with it. That being said, I'd buy the 7 Pro if you can.

FYI, new phones aren't guaranteed either. IP68 is not waterproof, merely water "resistant". No OEM will warranty a phone with water damage whether new, refurb or renewed.
IPx8:

The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects.

The phone manufacturers may be lying about the IP rating, but I assure you that IPx8 IP68 etc are water proof for "Immersion, 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) or more depth".

How would you define the difference between water proof and water resistant?

Basically when the phone came out it needed a bunch of software updates and the modem was a bit on the weak side. Phone is fine now. Turning off 5g fixes most issues

The 128 GB black was originally listed for $316. The 128 GB white is still listed for $336.
I could order 256 GB white at $349.
It seems that prices have gone up a little due to increased demand.

If you take it out running or hiking or camping or any sort of outdoor activity, you want some assurance that a few drops of rain aren't going to ruin your day. When you're 70 miles away from your car and reach in your pocket to find a dead phone, it's something you look for when you buy your next one
The most likely place where water enters is through the sim card tray. Take it out, inspect it for deformities, apply a tiny bit of silicone grease, and reinsert it gently.

If you are really concerned, use one of those cheap universal phone sleeves when it starts to rain. If you are truly dependent on your phone, I wouldn't want to rely on the seal even if the phone was new, as you can't see whether water is entering.

Google tries to save on manufacturing using inferior modems and old parts. This leads to a poor user experience, dropped calls, etc. Marques himself said NOT to buy this phone.

Yes, not recommended on launch 10/2021.

There has been plenty of software updates that fixed the issues people were having. Im sure there will be lots of deals on these refurb phone since it had a rocky launch.

No issues here and its an overall smooth experience. Battery life could be a tad better, you can always nitpick.

Great as a camera, terrible as a phone. I imagine there are a ton of these "renewed" out there, including the 3x defective ones I sent back.
What do you mean "terrible as a phone"? No able to make a calls?

Then you save a few hundred bucks and put it in a waterproof bag. Problem solved.

I haven't had a phone die from water intrusion since I fell into the river with a flip phone, and even then it worked again after taking the battery out and letting it dry a couple days.

Main problem is drops, followed by losing the phone. I've never broken a phone before (except temporarily by falling into a river), but that's what caused problems when I supported 400+ phone users. That said, there was a surprising amount of people that dropped them into the toilet. Not sure how one manages to accomplish that, but it's fairly common.

Having owned both P6P and P7P, I'll admit I somewhat miss the P6P. Great deal ~$300 IMO

The company selling these phones in Amazon has a really bad, but really bad review everywhere you look. I googled it just to be sure and reading the reviews I decided not go pull the trigger.
