It's a sick tablet. You're going to want it at this price. I had it for 18 months until they stole it for me at the library.

Is good for light to medium workloads. Can emulate all the way to PS2 smoothly. It was a flagship tablet Once Upon a Time but the S7 and S8 has surpassed it however both of those don't have that sweet sweet OLED screen. It's so cool for watching pr0n.

Cons. Only 25w charging (actually I think it's 15w not sure). It's kinda old compared to Tab s7 s8 and M1 iPad. Not as much productivity apps as iPad, bit it's 1/3rd the price and can still get things done as a laptop replacement

Next year (2023) is probably the last year of security support. It got Android 12L (OneUI 4.1.1) a few months ago, and that should be the last major Android update it receives.

This is a nice tablet, but if you plan on actively using it connected to the internet for a few years, then I would look elsewhere.

In this price range with other specs this is unrealistic. But I get ya.

I'd take a 60hz AMOLED any day over a 120hz IPS LCD

S6 is still my daily used tablet. Got a great deal locally for 256gb/8gb mint condition for $180 on FB Marketplace. I turned on Battery Protect 85% limit to extend life of battery and no need to install accubattery. This tablet got Android 12L a few months ago. I think its the last OS update, but I'm not worried I had an old Android 5 tablet that I used for years before upgrading to something else. I'm looked at xdaforums and I don't see any ROM development for this tablet. I may trade it in to Samsung if I plan to upgrade to an S8+ or S8Ultra, but this is the last 10.5 AMOLED tablet they offered and I love the form factor.

I"ve used this tablet for media streaming twitch, youtube (Revanced for ad-free experience), Netflix, prime, viki, anime x265 files. Also, Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming works great.

Thanks for the tip on not needing accubattery to be able to set the charging limit. Also, I did not know that vanced was able to be installed without the tablet being rooted. Any link for instructions on that?

Right on the splash screen. No draw backs to using it wifi. Can make Meet wifi calls, and receive and call if tethered to a Samsung phone. I'm doing same with a TMobile Tab A7 (huge gap in this and tye S6). Bought the A7 to prevent myself from buying an iPad Mini. Had a bad experience with a Fold 3 and was looking for something bigger than a phone but smaller than the S6. Wasted $100.

My guess is pricing was dictated by when they purchased bulk. Prob bought the locked versions at a higher price and trying to protect profit. It's a steal for the price. I've looked at the newer tablets but prefer the smaller size of the S6. The pen is cool. Don't do enough with the pen to realize differences in newer pens. Solid battery life, it's still quick and recently updated to 12L.

Yea you can install Vanced / ReVanced both non-root and root. Vanced still works but its outdated and no longer being worked on anymore. This is ReVanced takes over. It not as simple as Vanced installation but doable. You can also use YT Music as well.

Awesome! Thank you for the links. Over the weekend I dusted off my old S 8.4 and installed the old Vanced successfully, after installing LOS. Had heard of ReVanced, but since Vanced seemed to work fine, I stuck with that. For the S6 though, i'll take a look at ReVanced. Thank you again!

I got this for $50 at Walmart when they were clearing them a few years back. Easily one of the best tablet even today. My brother even commented on the screen.

My MIL is looking for a new tablet to browse facebook, sudoku, etc... She would use this 100% of the time on wifi. The price seems right, and I'm sure this will be able to handle whatever she needs it for for years. Seems decent at the price point, but I haven't shopped tablets much....should I hunt for something cheaper, or is this pretty good?
